Germinating setts of sugar cane with different age and number of roots were placed in contact with a solution of phosphate labelled with p32. After 24hours the material was sliced and radioautographed. It was found that all ports were radio active (roots, buds, nodes and internodes). Radioactivity increased with age and with the number of absorbing roots.Downloads
