The Rio do Peixe "basin" can be considered as relatively well known from stratigraphie and paléontologie points of view. However, available data have come almost exclusively from outcrops. Only one stratigraphie borehole has been drilled, till now, in this area, hypothetically cutting the entire sequence, yet very little information has been published on this material. The objective of this paper is to present the results of the palynological study of samples from this borehole. The studied assemblage is very rich, allowing the characterization of 99 taxa. At all fertile levels, the species Dicheiropollis etruscus is present, as well as other stratigraphycally important species. This fact suggest that the three diferent stratigraphie units recognized in the basin and present in the borehole were deposited within a continuous, relatively short time interval, here interpreted as of Aratu Age. The deposicional environment was surely non marine, with hot climatic conditions, somewhat drier in the lower part of the section than at the top
