Abstract

By recognizing the central role of memory and imagination in the intelligible textual disposition of signs, and considering fiction as a possible intrinsic attribute of stories, the meanings of some of the basic attributions of journalistic narrative are revitalized, such as interpretation, categorization and the constitution of subjectivities and collectivities. To write a news or feature article, is thus to experiment with language and literary tradition. From this perspective, the form of capturing time in journalistic discourse reveals itself to be a strategic place to utilize the resources of fiction.
