Abstract

The paper presents the pioneering urban development based on garden city movement in the city of São Paulo. Started with the history of the introduction of this model by Cia. City it aim is to discuss the difficulties of preserving that urban trait, recognized as an important reference, but located in a in a dynamic metropolis and the residence of people with ever-changing habits.
