Abstract

This article analyzes in detail the vicissitudes of the legal protection for the Northwest Railway Station in the city of Bauru, aiming to verify the applicability of the principles of restoration studied and explained in my master’s thesis, and to state possible guidelines for future interventions. Therefore, our research begins with a thorough analysis of the history and memory of the building, its architectural typology, building techniques, transformations over time, and comprehension of the project. Furthermore, analyzing the current physical condition of the building and its place in the urban context, as well as a photographic and iconographic survey, are also part of the research. Finally, based on the analysis of the theoretical precepts of restoration of the present time, possible guidelines for future interventions were outlined.
