Abstract

Pepetela (pseudonym Artur Carlos Maurício Pestana dos Santos), one of the most important voices of the Angolan literature, presents in his novel "The generation of utopia" the historical and political context of the nation which, literalized, allowed a comparative study of History and Literature. In Angola, after the achievement of independence, which occurred in 1974, many of the literary works began to underline this strong tendency to criticize the process of struggle against colonialism.
