Abstract

The aim of the article is to study the ways in which Physiology as a science came to have a philosophical dimension. This happened in the passage from the XVIIth to the XVIIIth Century, when philosophy itself shifted from a Cartesian to a Newtonian paradigma. Our main source in this article will be François Duchesneau’s La phyisiologie des Lumières.
