O fluxo internacional dos serviços televisivos acompanha o de pessoas – respectivamente os mediascapes e os ethnoscapes de Appadurai – na medida em que a população de cada nação rompe com seus antigos limites. Da mesma forma que quem viaja a negócios encontra a BBC, CNN ou Deutsche Welle nos quartos de hotel, povos diaspóricos em locais distantes podem ter notícias e entretenimento vindos de seu real ou suposto país de origem. Esse público engloba tanto os falantes de espanhol que vivem nos Estados Unidos e que assistem a suas telenovelas preferidas, como também os falantes de Chinês ou Hindi em diáspora pelo mundo todo. Esses públicos podem ainda ter acesso a serviços específicos através da transmissão direta via satélite e, de maneira incipiente, pela televisão na internet.Downloads
