The population ageing phenomenon is, according to the United Nations, known worldwide. Among the problems related to ageing, one specific is the deterioration of cognitive functions. This work aims for a non invasive solution for elderly with memory loss. It is intended to obtain, as a proof of concept, a mHealth device that could locate the elderly and identify if they are in a safe zone. After reviewing
the literature about mHealth devices, a mechatronic analysis was made to identify the subsystems needed for the proposed work. The projects for each subsystem were executed and integrated for final tests. Besides the device, this work also delivered a
patient monitoring tool to be used by doctors or relatives.
