Abstract

The article presents the childhood conceptions in the work of Gilberto Freyre and its relationship with the public and the private in the patriarchal society. The theme chosen possible to observe the cultural intercourse, the balances, the antagonisms that mark the freyrianos written about the organization of society and the formation of the Brazilian state. This study is described in Casa Grande & Senzala and Sobrados e Mucambos secondarily, but punctuates child children process: indigenous, black and white at a specific time of national history.
