Abstract

The article aims to understand the process of generation and consolidation of the sudanese nationalist movements as unifying spaces of the individual desires to challenge the colonial administration, and, especially, as prominent political agents of social transformation. Beside an environment of the resizing of Britain and Egypt relations (the Sudan colonizing countries between 1898 and 1956), the nationalist elites, from the 1930s, question, in a more eloquent manner, the situation of dominium they were in, beginning an
effective pressure group, doing a systematic opposition to the Anglo-Egyptian colonialism, from the premise that to seize the state and build one nation would be indispensable factors for the effective realization of their political aspirations. Still, the article aims to identify the sources that sudanese nationalists are inspired: to explore the ideological frameworks that arise, mainly, from the Arab world helps us to recognize the factors that influence the Sudanese nationalist formulations, and that comprise the repertoire of ideas for their national projects. In sum, it will be observed the historical process of emergence and consolidation of nationalism in the Sudan, the ideological elements that influence them, the policies formulated on the basis of these ideas, their convergence and inflections.
