Abstract

This paper discusses how the internal contradictions of the Church's political and ideological point of view materialize and produce a contradictory space in Crato - Ceará. For this research, part is the role of the Church as developer / real estate developer, landowner, active in the field of health services, education, tourism, among others. Another important form of production of urban space is given the logic of liberating the Church, from the liberation theology, as is the case of the shares of CEB's Pastorals and the Popular Half Youth Ministry (PJMP). To understand this discussion it is part of the historical and dialectical materialism as a methodological foundation of understanding reality. It used procedures such as literature reading, photographic record, semi-structured interviews, preparation of maps, documentary research, etc. Thus, it stresses the importance of internal contradiction of the church that objective and materializes in the geographic space that contradiction.
