Abstract

This paper present a review about the studies of atmospheric systems in caves, focused on the presentation of its main characteristics and the relationship with management of tourism in caves. Some inherent aspects of the patterns of temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide and radon concentration and the energy flow are addressed. The article highlights the necessity of long-term speleoclimatic studies in Brazilian caves, focused both in management issues and in the basic knowledge of its atmospheric variability patterns.
