Abstract

The rising demand for products and nautical services in Brazil has stimulated socioeconomically dynamics in some places along the Brazilian urban coastline. Angra dos Reis (RJ) introduces elements that lead to presume representativeness of the subject. Those dynamics create, affirm, and also enclose labor relations.  Discussed from the convergence of scales and geographic information, the nautical tourism suggests the existence of a multidimensional territorial usage by the phenomena. The marinas, current expression of leisure ports, are becoming more influential in such territorial dynamics. These installations arrange themselves under different scopes of technical complexity, depending on the context where they are located, interfering chain of production of nautical supply. In the perspective of spatial economy such circuits cause an opportune but contradictory dynamic, surrounding different scales of the phenomenon, which consist the main method approach of this study. Verified the influence of external –non-placed– agents in promotion of the nautical business context as a promoting development sector, the analysis of official documents, media and specialized events revealed the paradox confronted with the high concentration of jobs in marinas. That makes inhibitive many kind of other jobs relations in urban tourism. This paradox is subsided by tourism policies and materializes hierarchized logic concentration by economic power.
