(Re) discussion of the major areas of knowledge: criticism of fundamental epistemology - ruminations

The areas of knowledge, as structured in science assessment systems in Brazil, are the subject of discussion from time to time, both by the scientific community and by the funding agencies themselves - CNPq and CAPES. The article asks questions debated in a seminar held at IEA / USP, in 2018, and aims to problematize some pertinent aspects of scientific research, especially with regard to the Humanities, the focus of threats from groups that deny or ignore the historical and social importance these domains of knowledge that include, among others, the fields of study and research of literature, philosophy, music, history.
