The lenght of the intestine in pig

It was studied the length of the various segments of the digestive tract as well as their full length in 40 adult pigs (20 males and 20 females) and it was achieved the following average, without significant difference concerning sex: small intestine - 17.7 2m ± 1.32; caecum - 0.23m ± 0.02; colon and rectum - 4.62 m ± 0.31) large intestine – 4.85m ± 0.32; full length 22.55 m ± 1.54. There was positive correlation between the full length of the intestine and the weight or length of the carcasses.
