The countrymen Osman Lins and Hermilo Borba Filho maintained constant and dense epistolary correspondence, between 1965 and 1976, interrupted due to the death of Hermilo. They dealt exclusively with their projects of books, novels, their plays, as well difficulties related to thepublishing world, most pressing issues regarding literature and writing, besides problems of the country of their time, given the military dictatorship that would last more than twenty years. Living Hermilo in Recife and Osman in São Paulo, in the few times they met in person, the subjects, in general, usually slipped into familiar, everyday affairs, etc. Thus the space of letters constituted the privileged virtual universe for this exchange of literary experiences and creative writing, confirming the fact that the letters of writers constitute true archives of creation.
