“Fonte Boa/ It was here that I heard a Tantum ergo turned lullaby that I reported in the Compêndio” (Mário de Andrade). This is the content of a hand-written reminder of the author. It was attached to a typewritten text on the June 14th in the original O Turista Aprendiz. The analysis of the reminder insertion into the body of the aforementioned work and the narrative analysis of this travel experience, present in the first and second edition of Compêndio da história da música, allowed the identification of the central importance of the lullaby in the oral culture universe according to Mário de Andrade. This article is the result of the research carried for the thesis Canção de ninar brasileira: aproximações, submitted to the Departamento de Teoria Literária e Literatura Comparada da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas – FFLCH/USP, in 2012. The book with the same name is being printed at Edusp.Downloads
