Abstract

The following article discusses the idea of a multispecies life in two steps. The first of them addresses the anthropocentric device that operates in anthropological thinking, discussing its recurrent process of delimiting human life as a qualified, political life, in detriment of animal life as disqualified, mechanical. The second step indicates constitutive elements of an ecological thinking that is not subordinated to the type of reductionism present in the classical opposition between culture and nature. From these two steps, the concept of “multispecies” is discussed in terms of the diagnosis of the exhaustion of the conceptual apparatus based on the exclusivism of the human and the idea of nature as a background for human actions.
