Abstract

This is a critical reading of Janaína Leite’s show, Stabat Mater, made beyond the many layers of meaning whose medieval and Christian reference allows for, avoiding an objective description of contemporary references to which the staging refers. The critical procedure recorded an impressionist contextualization of the show’s phatic effectiveness given what could be deduced from its aesthetic ambition.
