Abstract

This article discusses the contemporary theater in Rio de Janeiro, through the analysis of two theatrical examples, Otro, of the Coletivo Improviso, and Caminhos, of the Cia EnvieZada. Central to this discussion is the relationship of theater to the common, in the meaning of ordinary and community. Another aspect that the article is trying to understand is the relation of theater and artists with the other and with the difference.
