poetics of cinema – politics of cinema – working classAbstract
This work analyses representations of the working class in videos produced in the workshops of the project Labour in a Single Shot, created by Antje Ehmann and Harun Farocki, who were inspired by Workers Leaving the Factory (1895), the pioneer film shot by the Lumière brothers. In order to undertake this analysis, I will apply some of the concepts defined by Maya Deren concerning the poetics of cinema.
