One of the fields of ethnographic work in which anthropologists has greater personal dilemmas is working with religious groups. In the case of the Evangelical Association of the Israelite Mission of the New Universal Covenant with whom I have worked for over 10 years, the main challenges have been three: one, overcoming the issue of conversion; two, the themes of sex and gender; and three, the ethical dilemmas and the fulfillment of the ethical and religious norms of the group. Each of these topics constitutes an item in this text, which is written in the first person. The information used are my own field journals in which I collected information for the master’s and doctorate thesis (2009 and 2017) in Anthropology at the Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá, Colombia
