This paper analyze the process bywhich the religious Jewish movement Habad Lu-
bavitch shapes the meaning of the Kashrut (Dietary
Laws), turning to legitimations that came from me-
dical field and seculars discourse matrix linked to
the memory of tragedy and the subject of Jewish pe-
ople survival. The objective in to analyze continuity
patters between secular and religious dimensions in
proselytizing movements strategies of placement in
Jewish field. In order to legitimate religious practi-
ces, Habad Lubavitch resorts to secular meanings.
Putting in circulation this meanings, risks of em-
phasize secular aspects of religious practices are po-
sed. In order to avoid this, circulation of meanings
is administrated by the movement.
