This article has drawn itsinspiration from the Bourdieu’s lesson(1999:693) that a good way to look attheoretical problems and practices ofresearch methodology is to reflect uponthe social interactions between researchersand informants. We analyzed the socialinteractions in the research “Memoriesof peasant – migrant workers families(men and women) – 1950-1990)”,developed from 2000 to 2003. Theseinteractions are embedded in powerrelations, sometimes constructed in aspace in which identities, knowledge andconceptions are negotiated andeventually ways to empowerment. Theempirical space was three communitiesin the municipality of Fagundes, meso-region of Agreste, in the State of Paraiba,Northeast Brazil.Downloads
