This article proposes an overview of the critical reception of Himmelweg, a play on the Holoacaust by Spanish playwright Juan Mayorga. After having been premiered in Málaga the year before, Himmelweg was presented at the Madrid María Guerrero theatre in 2004. Both text and staging were subject to a bisected criticism in the Madrid press. This article summarizes these positions.
