The aim of this paper is to draw an overview of the discipline Revision of Spanish/Portuguese Translated Texts in the context of the translators training in a university level course. It is intended to present the relationship of the subject to the skills and abilities proposed in the course pedagogical program, its insertion in the curriculum and its programmatic contents. In the same way, the principles and parameters guiding the practical activities developed in the course are synthesized from Parra Galiano’s proposal (2005, 2007). It is hoped to be able to show how future professional translators need a minimal training in text revision as well as to motivate them to be not only proof-readers of their own texts but also of texts of other professionals in the area. Thus, their performance would in one hand ensure a better quality for the final translation, on the other open a possibility of entering a wider process, that of translation editing and publishing.Downloads
