The present study reviews the fundamental concepts of the reformist Latin American university (public, autonomous, national, international, popular, universalist...), which is, nowadays, under threat to be attacked in its most intimate core by the “efficiency discourse” and for the commercialism imposed by the academic neoliberalism in course. Facing this neoliberalism, the democratic question in the University calls up for reinventing a meaning for the emancipator content which it inherits from its best tradition.Downloads
