Based on the development of Glotopolitics in Argentina this text approaches the process of its formation previous to the military dictatorship. It also goes through other two moments – the transition to democracy and the current investigations – remarking on the themes discussed, the accomplishments and the reflections on the recent past of this field of studies. Further, it focuses on the research lines presented during the 4o CLAGlo and demonstrates the interest and importance of the positions developed during this event, paying special attention to the round tables debates and to some important points raised from the lecturers´ speeches.
