The aim is to investigate the types of troops, as done by Machiavelli, seeking to understand the characteristics that distinguish one's native troops. Having accomplished this, we will engage in the debate between what is public and what is private, as laid out in The Art of War, relating it to the theme of war. This objective concerns the investigation announced by Machiavelli and connects civilian life to military life. Finally, we will seek to demonstrate the author's perspective on the public use of war as well as the disastrous consequences of its private use. In this course, the intention is to highlight war as a focal point in Machiavellian thought, directly related to the foundations of politics, as well as Machiavelli's interest in contemplating the problems of his time and addressing them from a philosophical perspective. The research is confined to investigating the theme from The Prince, Discourses on the First Decade of Titus Livius, and The Art of War.
