This article presents the partial stage of the project Nordestinos in São Paulo and Oral History: a critical approach, which has been conducted by me since the beginning of 2018. The main objective is to make a survey of the Brazilian production that has used interviews for analyzing the migrations from the Northeast of to the Southeast of the country, especially to the State of São Paulo. From the survey, the proposal aims to characterize this production, including verifying if the works that use interviews are identified or not with the method of oral history. In case of the oral history studies, we intend to identify which lines and authors has influenced the researchers. It is expected therefore to know the type of use that has been made of the interviews in these migratory studies. The text will also show the current state of the research, along with a discussion of the methodological and conceptual procedures that guide the work. In addition, some previous works by the author will be resumed in articulation with the discussion of the migrant identity, especially the “nordestinos identity”
