Experiências Narrativas de Jovens nas Periferias de São Paulo: Identidades, Representações e as Linguagens da Cultura

Abstract

This article aimed to present a reflection on the processes of identity construction, through mechanisms of cultural action, politics and media resources, mobilized by young participants in audiovisual creation workshops in civil society organizations, in the peripheral territories of the urban context of city of São Paulo, from 2002 to 2007. We sought to use a transdisciplinary methodological approach in a perspective related to the thematic axes in the area of Cultural Studies. These young people, in different degrees of organization, build collective identities, organize themselves in solidarity, carry out dialogues, recognize themselves as subjects of rights and constitute themselves as agents of transformation in society.
