Abstract

The article discusses several meanings for national borders in thecontemporary world and some specific situations taken place in last few years inthe Portuguese-Spanish border. The aim of the paper is to challenge thehomogeneity and fixity of the political limit, generally seen as the border parexcellence between nation states, and highlight the diversity, multiplicity,dynamism, historicity, power asymmetries and paradoxes experienced in a fewborder situations.
