The article refers to the evidences of tourism workers' perception of temporality, taking as the most important element the fact that these professionals working hours occurs mainly during normal office workers' free time. The study has a qualitative basis, supported by 12 interviews, held with professionals from the leisure industry. These interviews included questions related to their involvement with the work and the experience of an 'atypical' temporality compared to the pattern of stable temporality that prevailed in the industrial society. The results indicate that the reconfiguration of this temporal structure, taken as a trend, goes beyond this specific sector of the economy, has an impact on social order, but does not compromise the role of work as a central activity.Downloads
