This article is based on the theoretical reading of the “L’Étrangère” from Roland Barthes, with the objective to examine the foreign representations emergents from this french intellectual. It takes in consideration the foreign image mediated by the intellectual and personal friendship that was established by Roland Barthes with Julia Kristeva. In this sense, this article puts in evidence the contribution of Julia Kristeva to the development of the French semiotics based on the project of renovation of paradigms that refuses the national and the foreign differences. It discusses also the honor texts from Julia Kristeva to Roland Barthes, where she emphasizes the ethic from reciprocity as the “noyau dur” of Barthes thinking. With this purpose, this article presents an affective and intellectual cartography game that translates the favorable reception to the alterity articulated by the plural (National and Transnational) reflection of Roland Barthes.
