The main objective of this study is to introduce the poetic slam movement based on the history of performance art and its political character. Furthermore, when considering the production of slam in the context of Latin America, especially in Brazil, the decolonial criticism is relevant to this reading. Thus, the aim is to highlight the feminist-decolonial practice observed in the slam performance art, given that it is understood that slam opens up the possibility for non-white women to produce, speak and listen to other women and their most varied ways of being and be in the world.
