In “Diário para um conto”, published by Julio Cortázar in 1982 doubts are incorporated to the construction of the narrative. The process of creation of the text itself is the subject of the short story. What is the best way of narrating? Is it possible to narrate? The text quotes itself, tries to explain itself and seems to resist to the continuity of the narration, since it tries to unveil the ways of narrating and to think of it in a critical way. The theme is the creation of a story, the difficulty of telling it, the exposure of the narrative process since it questions how and why to narrate.
