In position of the extensive discussion about the autobiography and its questioned status as a literary genre, this article aims to discuss the comparative gesture and his autobiographical traces in the works of two writers who, each in his own way, break the protocol associated with the writings of the self. In the foreground, it is the work A idade viril of Michel Leiris, in which writing, confession, memories and dreams merge, which will be compared to Photomaton & Vox, meeting of essays, reviews, poems and reports of the portuguese poet Herbert Helder.
