Abstract

The poems “Evocação do Recife” (Libertinagem) and “Recife” (Estrela da Manhã), both of then written by Manuel Bandeira (1886-1968), concerning the longing of visit the childhoood, one of the meanings for the word “saudade”. This article intends to compare the poems of Manuel Bandeira and the meanings of “saudade” for the portuguese and Brazilian poetries.
