W. Benjamin, Jewish mysticism, “On the concept of History”Abstract
The aim of this paper is to articulate some aspects of Walter Benjamin’s philosophy contained in writings of the 30s, especially the theses “On the concept of History”, and some themes traditionally related to Jewish mysticism and messianism. My hypothesis is that, although there is a rupture from the “materialistic yaw” of Benjamin’s thought, a few elements coming from the Jewish mystical tradition are present in the middle of the Benjamin’s enterprise called materialist.Downloads
