Information For Authors

Gestão & Tecnologia de Projetos (GTP) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal focused on the publication of original research and innovative practices related to project processes and technologies in architecture, engineering and design.
The journal provides a forum for dissemination and exchange of ideas between researchers and professionals engaged in the scientific and technological development of innovations in management and project technology. The journal also seeks to promote the transfer of technologies and innovative project practices among academics and professionals linked to the productive sector.

Topics:
Integrated Product Development Building; Collaboration and coordination of projects; Quality Management and Environmental Management in the Project; Information Technology and knowledge management in the design process; Design of products and processes; Technologies and tools to support the project; Method and Methodology of project development; Performance evaluation and product design; Post-occupation evaluation and feedback of the projects; Teaching and Dissemination of Project Management and Technology.

Complementary material:
Linked to the articles, since 2018, GTP journal allows the authors to compose material complementary to the research report. It is possible to share BIM models in 3D PDF, videos, spreadsheets, questionnaires and interview scripts, among others. In order to submit such materials, the supplementary document option must be used in the submission process. The additional documents will be considered in the evaluation process and if the article is approved will be available to the readers along with the article.

Evaluation Process:
Articles submitted to Gestão & Tecnologia de Projetos (GTP) are initially evaluated by the editors who verify the adequacy to the journal themes and attend to the scientific and ethical aspects of the manuscript, considering approval of the project by a research ethics council, when the text involves research with beings, rigor in the presentation of bibliographic references and description of the methods used.
Due to these verifications, the manuscript may be summarily rejected, it may be returned to the authors with recommendations for adjustments and re-submissions or sent to peer evaluation (when fully ethical, scientific rigor and thematic adequacy).
For each manuscript, at least two independent reviewers are assigned. The reviewers of the journal are preferably PhDs who work on the issues related to the journal and are assigned based on the topic of the article and the expertise of the evaluator. Distinguishing between evaluator and author (s) is also considered, so an evaluator should not act in the same department of the author (s) of the manuscript.
The standard dynamic of evaluation consists of "double blind peer review" and both authors and reviewers are not informed about the identity of the other party.
Special numbers (thematic, linked to scientific events and others) can be evaluated in the "blind" system, in these cases the reviewers have access to article metadata and authors' names.

Based on the evaluations the article can be:
- Accepted in the present form, with no need for revisions;
- I accept with small adjustment needs that will be checked by the publisher;
- Requested significant revisions, after which the article will be redirected to the original reviewers for new round of analysis;
- Rejected.

It is common for the original manuscript to go through two or three rounds of review before a final favorable decision.
In all cases and at each review round, the evaluation opinions and the reasons for the editor's decision are sent by e-mail to the author (s).

Ethics Policy:
The GTP considers the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication: authors, editors and evaluators of manuscripts. According to the Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics - COPE (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).

Authors must ensure that works are entirely original and that they use texts or images of others that this is duly cited. Plagiarism constitutes unethical editorial behavior and is unacceptable.

The authorship of the work should be restricted to those who have made significant contributions to the design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.

Sources of research funding: it is the responsibility of the authors to inform the sources of resources used for research.
