This research analyzes argumentative strategies used in the editorials of the newspaper O Globo, "Reforming Social Security would be a good start for Temer" and "Optimism with the new tone of the Planalto", published during Dilma Rousseff's impeachment process. Our goal is to identify how editorials build the characters involved in the process and how media can influence public opinion. The methodology considers the communication situation in which the editorials are inserted, the procedures of the enunciative construction and the basic elements of the argumentative relationship. As a conclusion, it was identified, in the editorials analyzed, the engagement of the speaker in the defense of a favorable thesis towards the dismissal of President Dilma and the expression of the Opinion, that disqualifies Lulism and PT, through the delocative modality.
