We consider the knowledge of sociorhetorical organization’s homepage helps the instructional designers to promote a positive interaction between the on line courses and pedagogical contents, to promote the students’ involvement with the teaching and learning processes. In this paper, we examined ten homepages subjects from Mathematics – Teaching Education courses, offered by Pontifícia Universidade Católica – SP, Brazil. The analysis was based on the sociorhetorical perspective of genre analysis (SWALES, 1990), which considers the communicative purposes of the genre; the functional units (rhetorical movements) and the rhetorical strategies employed to achieve these aims. The sociorhetorical organization information on homepages of the selected disciplines show the social practice adopted by their users. Knowing this organization may help designers and teachers to develop more efficient instructional designs because understanding how genres are produced help to meet the teaching and learning needs and the pedagogical activities comprehension.Downloads
