The Corpus Hermeticum (CH) is a collection of brief esoteric treatises of a philosophical and religious nature, probably written between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD in the hellenic Egypt. Some texts deal not only with cosmological, but also soteriological matters: the precarious state of the human being and a distinct way of life that he can experience. Thus, I intend to show how the CH understands the structure of the human being (nous, soul, body), in analogy with the macroscopic structure of the universe; the origin of the soul, as well as its condition; and the itinerary of conversion suggested as one’s reformation.
