This research aims to develop a new methodology for understanding how anime in- fuences young people. Using the anime Naruto as object, case studies were conducted with four young people. Trough an analysis of the stories narrated by them about both their lives and Naruto, it was demonstrated that their main life patterns were grounded in archetypes represented by images in this anime. Although these young people referred to archetypes related to rupture and the breaking of paradigms, in- novation and transgression, such as those of the Hero, other characters such as those related to the maintenance of the status quo were also prominent in their narratives, suggesting a possible change in the posture of young people today.Downloads
