Conservadorismo e masculinidade tóxica na cultura gamer: uma aproximação a Magic: The Gathering

A partir de un esfuerzo etnográfico realizado entre los años 2016 y 2020, este artículo problematiza la puesta en escena de una masculinidad tóxica dentro de los espacios sociales relacionados con el juego de cartas Magic: the Gathering. El objetivo es sugerir una relación entre los comportamientos observados y el refuerzo de valores conservadores en la comunidad formados a partir de la experiencia de este juego, avanzando en la comprensión de la dinámica social de la cultura gamer. Esta observación se basa en el supuesto de que la comunidad de jugadores formada a partir de la experiencia de este juego es el resultado de la articulación de dos contextos socio-técnicos particulares: la cultura nerd y las mecánicas inscritas en el diseño y la experiencia del juego en sí.
