Abstract

This article consists of four parts. The first part analyses and reconstructs the roots and historical passages of the Mexican Left crisis. Subsequently, key features of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) crisis are highlighted. The third part illustrates the background of the nationwide protests against the forced disappearance of forty-three students from the Ayotzinapa Normal school in 2014,  nd the final part offers some final considerations over the protests’ impact and the opportunities this present crisis provides for the renewal of the Mexican Left.
