Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the phenomenon of contemporary Brazilian Right in historical perspective, as this tradition is strongly rooted in the colonial economic and social structure of Brazil. The methodological-theoretical proposal is to use a “plural” right category, characterized by a multiplicity of experiences, whose unifying element is the liberalism-authoritarianism tension, crossing the whole history of contemporary Brazil.
