Abstract

Sergio Miceli’s lecture approaches the relevance that written press and television, as well as other agents and commercial means, took over time in Brazil. According to his diagnosis, they began to dispute the intellectual hegemony with the traditionally knowledge producing sector: the university. That said, it should be time to reflect upon the role of the intellectual in the university and the search for solutions in this symbolic war.
