Abstract

This article describes a research methodology for non-graduate students. The steps for teaching and learning in an investigative work in the area of geohistory and socioculture are shown. This proposal suggests activities such as: orientation to the participants, visits to populated centers and elaboration of relevant reports. All these activities served as support of a research project on populated centers of the basin of the Lake of Maracaibo. The objective of the work was to obtain samples of populated centers by means of geographical stratified sampling for, later on, to continue with the survey design in the macro dimension of the research. The different aspects of the process in order to obtain the samples are presented in this paper.
